Employment Law Update - Written Policies

McDonald’s USA recently announced that beginning in October 2019 it is expanding its employment training program among the approximately 850,000 workers at McDonald’s brand restaurants across the U.S.  McDonald’s announced that the training will cover, in part, prevention of workplace harassment, discrimination and retaliation.  While your company may not employ quite as many individuals as McDonald’s, all companies benefit from having written employment policies in place that are distributed to employees.  Being proactive, rather than reactive, in establishing clear employment policies is an important component of setting expectations of employees and defending against claims asserted by present or former employees against the company.  If you have any questions regarding employment policies or would like to review your existing employee handbook, please feel free to contact Klein Law for a consultation.
